Spring is here!
But that doesn't mean that wintery weather is over!
Church was cancelled on March 15 because of an expected blizzard and quite a bit of snow.

It was nice to have a cozy week at home, but we were happy to get back there the following week.
We've been enjoying the changeable weather.
Some days are warmer, some are chillier. We get some snow, some rain, some sun.
I have, of course, done some fun thrifting.
These ceramic cannisters are one of my best recent finds!
Look out beautiful they are!
Nora has been biting our toilet paper - we don't know why, but in this photo you can see her tiny little middle teeth marks!
We got to see our niece Cora's beautiful performance of "Frozen Jr"!
I tried to make my brother Mark, smile . . .
Eventually, he did!
Cora had a fun night, and Esme lost a tooth!
It's still chilly, but some early spring plants are greening a bit.
The ice gets delicate gorgeous patterns, especially if it freezes when it's windy.
Ivy joined me in the exercise room while I ran on the treadmill!
Recently I got to have lunch with my college friend, Julie, who was in town from Alaska. We always have a good time!
Allistair is still clingy and by my side (or on my lap!) almost constantly.
On one warm day recently, I saw a wasp. Boo.
But I do like the blue sky and little buds on the trees!
Pretty sunset:
Weird dusk rainbow!
There's a period of a just a few minutes on clear evenings when the trees behind the pond turn orange-pink and glow!
Nora exploring:
We got to have Cora and Esme overnight recently.
We did some origami (which frustrates me! the directions do not make sense to me!)
We made smoothies.
We played Ransom Words:
We made pancakes, and the girls made fun shapes!
"See food!"
Esme is disgusted.
Cora cooking:
There were some morning snuggles.
The night before, we made cobbler . . .
And watched a movie!
We had veggie nuggets, tater tots, and fruit salad.
And we visited a couple of Goodwills!
This clock is now in our guest room.
This clock is in the powder bathroom! I often get ready in there, so it's helpful to know how much time I have until I need to leave. The neat thing about this clock is the TEAL second hand, which is the same color that is highlighted in the powder room. In most of our home, we use true blues, but we have a few teal things and they are grouped in the powder room. So this clock felt as if it was meant for this room!
I found a few unique handmade pots for aloes.
And we got pizza at Davanni's!
We left behind this huge margarita glass!
Cute Ivy:
Sometimes I just like to look at different angles of the house.
Here's the basement media area:
More interesting weather came - fog!
More thrift finds:
A cute wicker lamp that now lights up the corner of our kitchen, where it was hard to see.
A wonderful Minnesota zip-up sweatshirt!
After melting, the pond refroze (hard!)
Mark, Cora, and Esme came over one night for Greg to help try to fix something, and we did some art.
We had pizza:
Just a nice little pizza dinner, but I wanted it to be a little bit pretty.
Ivy's beautiful paw:
And her cute face!
Nora, looking a little like a dragon:
More thrifting!
A watering pot for my indoor plants with beautiful glazing:
This one is wood, so I'm on the lookout for a pot to go inside it.
A cute little hand-carved vase . . .
with bark intact!
An outdoor watering pot:
Sweet Ivy, snuggling me:
Can you see Ivy's cute little snout?!
Awww!
Here's a close-up of Nora's cute little snout!
The snow wasn't all finished yet.
But it melts quickly.
I've been able to run outside again because it hasn't been icy.
We had dinner and Mark's and Jillian's.
And we had Paige and Nick over for another delightful dinner!
What a blessing to have many lovely, wonderful, interesting, and intelligent people in our lives!
I figured out how to make bread that is gluten-free, vegan, and yeast-free, but that still can be sliced!
I made BLTs (bell peppers, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches!) The sauce is cashew cheese and my homemade "special sauce" (ie remoulade).
Isn't it pretty?
My wedding ring prong broke back in December, and the main ruby was actually cracked in the corner, so we patiently waited while the jeweler fixed the prong and replaced the stone with a slightly bigger and more faceted stone. Now I love my ring more than ever! It was a nice unplanned surprise to happen right before our 30th anniversary!
Our dishwasher had a small leak and some of our floorboards are a bit cupped now, but the leak is no longer leaking, and the floor boards should be fixable.
We've been very concerned about the authoritarian direction of this country's leaders, and about the fascist violence that has taken place, so we have been to a number of protests.
This one was really big and it was a VERY COLD DAY.
I'm proud of us for dressing wisely and for getting out there to raise our voices for freedom and peace.
Don't worry; the babies were at home safe and warm.
The last time the pond froze solid, it froze VERY smooth, and my friend's daughter wanted to come play on it.
We kicked around a hockey puck and had a great time!
After a windy day, Greg fished some garbage out of the pond with his amazing long window-cleaning pole!

And that is the end of this episode! Join us next time for more cats, nature, and thrifted finds!
