A Short Interlude

There has been a LOT going on here,
and not all of it has been good.

This post is a short interlude of peace and beauty.

After Christmas we had quite a bit of rain.

Our Chinese Elm trees are growing new little leaves (I think).
Or maybe this is how they reproduce?

On the way to the 10 (TEN) church services Rock Point had for Christmasm
one night it looked as if I was driving into the Nothing.
Kinda scary.

On Christmas Day, though, it was SUNNY and cool
and beautiful.  We went for our annual Christmas Day hike.
We like our little unique rituals.

Greg wore his ugly Christmas sweater.

There were still raindrops on the windshield when we left.

If he puts his sweater up to his chin,
it sort of looks as if he has a white beard like Santa.

It had rained a lot, so we needed to do a hike that
was easy to access with a paved road.
We chose San Tan Mountain Regional Park
(just like last year, for the same reason - rain!)
The park had signs asking people to be cautious and
not harm the wet trails.

We were happy.

Greg enjoys making odd confused faces in photos.

I found a cairn ON TOP of a cactus!

It was wonderful to be out in nature, seeing all the beauty
and smelling the fresh air.
We even got a bit of rain on us.

The steams of water from the rain left neat patterns in the dirt.

We navigated around some puddles.

It was chilly.

On the way home, we saw a gorgeous rainbow!

It was a relaxing day and we fully enjoyed it.

We've had some good days since then, but also some hard ones.
More details to come . . .
