Settling Down

Well, things are settling down here.  It's been a while between posts because Christie's been finishing up some work projects and she didn't have time yet to edit all of the adorable video she has of Allistair and Stephen!  They are living here with Christie & Greg permanently now, and they're getting all sorts of love and attention.  Right this minute, they are sleeping all curled up together on a cushion on a chair by the window (where there's a bird feeder so they can watch the birdies).  They really have a wonderful life.

Orca and Otter (the kittens from my litter who didn't find homes with friends of Christie & Greg) went to Friends For Life, who placed them in a foster home.  The same happened with Judith and Lionel.  Neighbor Chris may hear updates from time to time, but he hasn't so far.  They are all such delightful kittens with lovely, fun personalities that we are sure they will find loving forever families to take care of them and make them happy for the rest of their lives.  We do miss them, though.

On to the pictures!

On Mommy's suitcase:

When Mommy was stretching after a run, Allistair decided to get right in the middle of the stretch.

Stephen is so cute sometimes I just have to lick him!

Allistair all relaxed:

On Daddy's lap:

Christie has a bunch of videos to post on this topic - Allistair loves the guitar!  He thinks he can play it himself!  He gets up on Daddy's lap and starts biting the strings!!!  There will be a whole post about this strange phenomenon later.

Here's me, all comfy in the many pillows on the bed in Mommy's office (which is also the guest room!)

Orca & Otter - Foster Home!

Well, we handed off my last two unadopted babies yesterday afternoon to Friends For Life.  They said the kittens were adorable (of course!) and that they were going to a foster home that very night, so they didn't even have to stay in the facility overnight.  They believe they might even have a forever home for them by the weekend!  Thank you, God, for providing for the babies!

Christie snuggled them a LOT yesterday and took lots of pictures.

Greg is Orca's favorite person - every time Greg comes near, Orca stands up and runs over and starts to purr as loudly as he can!

And Otter had a lovely afternoon sitting on a cushion next to the window!  She had to endure kisses on her sweet nose from time to time, but she was brave.

We are proud of the kittens for going forth into the world and making it a happier and fuzzier place, and we want to say THANK YOU to their new foster family and their forever families for taking these sweet loving furballs into your hears and your homes.

Thanks to Chris & Tia, too, for helping Christie & Greg try to manage the population of homeless cats in the neighborhood.  If everyone just did a little bit, we wouldn't have a problem anymore.

FOSTER HOME!!!

GREAT NEWS!  Our neighbor, Chris, has a relationship with Friends For Life, the no-kill shelter in Gilbert that I mentioned previously, and they are able to take in two spayed/neutered kittens TOMORROW!  Since Orca and Otter have finished their surgeries and are all recovered, they're ready, and Chris is going to pick them up and take them to the foster home tomorrow afternoon!  This shelter is amazing because they don't euthanize any animals, and also the foster families agree to keep the kittens until they find their forever homes.   So we have confidence that Otter and Orca will find wonderful homes with people who love them to pieces, as we all do.  Thanks, Chris & Tia, for your hard work and sacrifice to make the lives of us animals so much better!

We are all inside again . . . it was just too hot for us outside.  Christie & Greg decided that we would just live inside until the weather cools off a bit.  But then we got the good news about the foster home available for Orca and Otter, so Christie & Greg won't be over-run with cats for very long.

Kali (used to be Ermine) before she went to her new home:

Kali's new family is LOVING her!  Two out of three of the kids in that family approached Christie purposefully on Sunday to tell her how much they love their cat.  I am proud of my baby girl for making a family that happy.  Everyone should have cats - we're great!

 Orca looking sleeeeeeeepy . . .

Now that the kittens have found safe happy homes, Christie & Greg and Chris & Tia are working on finding homes for Madge's kittens.  Allistair (white and feisty) will probably be living here with Christie & Greg, and I'm hoping that I can restrain myself from attacking their other cats (I don't mind Allistair) so I can live inside, too.  I really like Christie & Greg a lot.  I like to leap up onto the couch right before they sit down so they almost sit on me.  I also like to throw my favorite fuzzy blue mousie far up into the air and chirp and gurgle, then bat it far away so I have to go chase it.  Greg says I sound like a duck.

I hope you all are enjoying this new week and that you are not living in a place as hot as it is here in Arizona.  Hopefully tonight and tomorrow we will get some storms to cool things off and ease the load of the HEAT a little.

Here are a couple of pictures of Stephen and Allistair.  It's really tough to get good clear pictures of Stephen because he is almost always in motion, but also because he is such a dark color.  All his features blend together in the pictures . . . Christie keeps trying, though.  But don't think that lack of photos of him mean that we love him any less!

Kali!

Well, the best news I can impart to you today is that Ermine has a loving NEW HOME!  She now lives with a wonderful family of two parents and three kids.  Here is a video of her in her new home, getting cheered on for a big jump!  Her new name is Kali.

Dianna, Kali's Mommy, said that the second night, Kali wanted to sleep with the girls (there are two girls in the family and one boy), but the oldest girl, 13, was afraid she'd squish Kali in her sleep!  So Kali came meowed and meowed at the door of Dianna and her husband.  When they let her in, she slept all night on the bed.  She must be feeling like the most blessed cat in the whole world!

Here are Orca and Otter being cute:

Look at this sweet little face!

And here Otter is again, looking adorable.

Because I haven't posted for a couple of days, I have some older videos I want to make sure you all get to see!

First, here some video of the day that Otter was spayed.  She wanted LOTS of snuggles.  And everyone (including me!) was shivery and cold after our surgeries, so Greg & Christie bundled us up in blankies and snuggled us.

Here's a photo of Otter all cuddled up in a blankie:

Here is some video of Kali (Ermine) the day of her surgery.  She was woozy and sleepy, but she still wanted to play . . .

And a panorama-like video of all three kittens:

And some fun play with a stick!  (See?  Anything can be a toy!)

Before Kali left for her new home, Christie recorded this: Bjarne eating next to kittens!

And here are some introductions:

Tonight, now that fireworks for Independence Day are finished, I (Juvy) and my two remaining kittens are going to transition to being outside cats.  It's a little sad because we've been hoping to find all the kittens loving homes where they could live inside, but at least they have a loving home with Greg & Christie and ME where they will be cared for and loved.  They're impossible not to love!  I will take care of them, and we will have lots more space to run and play in the backyard!

There will continue to be videos and picture of our new adventure, so keep checking back!
