Pre-Birthday Fun

It's almost my birthday!

The weather is GREAT, which is a lovely gift!

On the day before my birthday, I met my dear friend Echo
for a nice long chat.  Isn't she adorable?

Echo sweetly gave me this jewelry holder as a birthday gift:

I put it on the bookshelf in our bedroom:

Isn't it cute?

I came home and had a quick lunch (bean and rice burger!)

& got some snuggles before heading off for some vintage shopping
with Jen!

Allistair's tummy has been a little upset, so he's been acting a little weird.
I like it when he jumps up in my lap and curls right up,
just expecting that I will make room for him.

We saw some flowers in the parking lot.

Then we started with this adorable vintage shop
in downtown Mesa.

There we are!

Oh, and on the way, I stopped by the jewelry store
to pick up my fixed ring and earrings!
I'm happy to have them back!

Liked this blue chair.

This raven caught my eye.

We also found a shop where different artists sold their wares.
They had a waterfall!

I wore one of my favorite outfits.

I should crochet some potholders!

These mandalas were beautiful.

Look at the pretty colors and patterns!

I also liked these home metal hangings.

And this "booya" shirt!

Then we moved on to an antiques market.
They had decorated for Halloween with some lines from The Raven:

Here's a javelina jawbone - ew.

This is Humphrey Beargart!

I adore this little artwork of a happy mama and baby otter.
The colors are beautiful!
It was $300, though, so I didn't buy it.

Need some "cowboy bubble bath"?
It's just beans!!!

Here's an 8-track player.
My parents had one of these when I was youngish.

This cool teapot is a Star Wars ones - can you see litte gold TIE fighters?

And here are some Mr. Spock drinking glasses.

This shop had vintage underthings that were hanging up as if
they were on a clothes line, drying in the sun.  Adorable and creative!

These paintings were gorgeous.
Up close, I couldn't tell what the picture was.
I had to back up to figure that out.
Sort of like life!

We moved on to search for a bathroom, a snack, and a drink.
Jen found this interesting sculpture made from painted, cut-up plastic bottles.

We came upon a cookie shop.

Inside it was pink and smelled like vanilla.

I found the bathroom!

I washed my hands.

The wall in the hallway was covered in these vintage ads.

Very creative!

Here are some of their cute cookies:

I had a La Croix sparkling water and a Larabar.

The last shop was Buckhorn Vintage.  I LOVED this shop.

The displays were gorgeous and creative.
Look at those beautiful paintings!
And my Mom had a mirror with a painting of flowers on it like the one on the right.

Here's a closer picture:

There's a cool wooden roadrunner in the tablescape and I like it.

That little pink bag has roadrunners on it, too!

Oops - blurry.

Vintage "Return Of The Jedi" drinking glasses!

By the time we were finished there, it was almost 5 PM and Jen had
dinner plans at 6, so we headed home.
Not before appreciating this twisty tree!

And not before enjoying these dinosaur tracks leading to the
Natural History Museum!

The setting sun cast rainbows on the roof of the car
thanks to a prism I have hanging from the rear view mirror
(gift from my parents!)

It was a lovely wonderful day!
